DJ Graham B relaunches a new look Jazz Juice with an all-ladies line up and featuring Saralee Vos

History:

JAZZ JUICE has been the main project for DJ Graham B since 2004 and originated as a bi-product from his successful collaboration with producer and musician Alain Eskinasi and their Edison Award winning work on the Electro Coco album "Coco do Mundo".  The idea with JAZZ JUICE was to create a unique DJ set that was perfectly suited for musicians to play along side.  The name of the act plus a major source of inspiration was a famous eight volume series of dance albums compiled by Gilles Peterson during the mid 80's.  These albums featured a range of styles from Latin Bugaloo, Bossa Nova and Soul Jazz and are recreated in the JAZZ JUICE sound mixed in with contemporary beats and styles that together have been described as "futuristic dance-floor jazz".

Productions:

JAZZ JUICE started releasing singles from their repertoire in 2005 and they proved to be an instant hit with DJ's and top sellers for the widely respected UK based independent Freestyle Label.  Their 5th single due out in the spring of 2008 is tipped to be another popular release and their debut album "52nd Street" has also been critically acclaimed and features talents such as Ben Herman, Praful, Patrick van Herickhuizen, Anton Goudsmit, Tamara Maria and Loet van der Lee.  A brand new track called "Come On" featuring Saralee Vos can also be found on the latest Messin' Around compilation series (Vol 5) also out on Freetyle.

On the road:

Graham decided it was time to relaunch the project for 2008 and take a different approach. He say's "Jazz Juice was always about a loose collective of musicians jamming with the DJ and was a perfect set up for a club environment but this idea was hard to bring across when on tour and at festivals so the new-look Jazz Juice is much more of a band with a fixed membership.  I also had another idea for the project and with the enthusiasm of original members Maite Hontele (trumpet) and Saralee (lead vocals) I decided to invite three new members to the team with two things in mind, they had to be highly professional and they had to be women!  With Jina Sumedi on keyboards, Susanne Alt on sax, Femke Krone on percussion the make-over is complete. I'm excited about getting back on the road and with this amount of talent the new Jazz Juice will definitely sound as good as it looks".

Jazz Juice members 2008:

Graham B (DJ)
Saralee Vos (Vocals)
Jina Sumedi (Keys)
Maite Hontele (Trumpet)
Susanne Alt (Sax)
Femke Krone (Perussion)
